Project Details

Ingleton Phase A

  • Ward: Scarborough-Rouge River (Ward 41)
  • Activity: Underground Rebuild
  • Timeline: May 2011 - June 2014
  • Status: Completed

This area’s current electrical system is nearing the end of its life expectancy and needs to be replaced. This project aims to improve long-term service reliability in the neighbourhood The proposed work will involve the replacement of the existing electrical cables and transformers within the public road allowance in front of or adjacent to your property.  Some excavation may also be necessary at your lot line between your property and the public premises to facilitate cable replacement.

During this project crews will work along McCowan Road, Alton Towers Circle and Major Oak Terrace.

Customers living in this area may experience intermittent power interruptions that are necessary for the safety of work crews. We will do our best to notify residents prior to these disruptions and to minimize any inconveniences.  Once construction begins, Toronto Hydro Inspectors will be on site on a regular basis. Any concerns that arise during construction can be discussed with them.

Restoration will be done in various stages during construction of the project. The grass or sidewalk will be replaced with new sod or concrete where we excavate.  In addition, all asphalt or concrete driveways will be replaced between the curb and sidewalk if affected by our excavation.  Where no sidewalk exists, we will replace the portion of the driveway between 450mm on either side of our excavation trench or right up to the curb if the curb is within 1.0m of our trench.

If you were considering repaving your driveway, we would encourage you to hold off until our work has been completed. Interlocking driveways will be lifted and reset to the Homeowners satisfaction. All work will be performed in a professional and expeditious manner.
