This area’s current electrical system is nearing the end of its life expectancy and needs to be replaced. This project aims to improve long-term service reliability in the neighbourhood.

The proposed work will involve the installation of underground electrical cables, transformers, and tap boxes along Keegan Crescent. Customers who will be directly affected by new infrastructure on the public road allowance in front of their home will be notified separately.

During this project crews will work along the following streets:

  • Keegan Crescent

Customers living in this area may experience intermittent power interruptions that are necessary for the safety of work crews. We will do our best to notify residents prior to these disruptions and to minimize any inconveniences. We will also endeavour to restore properties throughout the construction phase.

    Construction Update:

Project Keegan, originally scheduled for construction in April 2012, is now scheduled to occur in April 2013. Toronto Hydro-Electric System Limited is planning to rebuild the aging underground electrical system on Keegan Crescent. The rebuild includes the replacement of the existing underground electrical cables and transformers and installation of new tap boxes within the City of Toronto’s public property allowance in front of or adjacent to the lot.

This project is expected to start by April 2013 with an approximate completion date of July 2013. All work will be completed on Keegan Crescent. Throughout Project Keegan Crescent, power interruptions may be necessary to switch from the old to the new electrical system. Toronto Hydro will provide advance notice prior to any planned outages.

Once construction begins, Toronto Hydro crews and contractors will take extra care and precautions to help minimize any inconveniences. The portion of the driveway and other areas affected by our work will be replaced to pre-construction conditions. Upon project completion, repair work will be completed as season, weather and schedule permits.
